HELLOOOO HIGH-SCHOOL! for many of us this meant freedom, new beginnings and endless possibilities. we were excited of what this new chapter would have in store for us, but being a child coming out of a dramatic past, we were way too hopeful. during the December holiday between grade 7 to grade 8, something changed. you started wearing smaller clothing and suddenly fit into your bras. Your braces came off and you swopped out your glasses for contacts. To the boys- unfortunately you go through puberty a bit later in high-school. being the problematic, insecure and broken new girl in high-school, young, naive, beautiful makes you the perfect target for the older boys in school [fresh objects]

your first encounter with a cute older guy makes you associate him immediately with love at first sight. being a daughter who grew up to never know what a healthy relationship is nor unconditional love from a manly figure, you tend to make bad decisions in choosing wisely in you love life. you thought this guy was different, maybe he was your first kiss even. you became his labeled girlfriend and you adored each-others company, he met your parents and you met his. he didn't like your friends very much so you decided to push them aside, your parents didn't accept him so you wrote them off. your parents explained to you that they were trying to protect you, but it felt like they were taking away the one person in your life that actually loves and cares for you. by this time you have basically lost any relationship with friends and family, you are stubborn and love-blind. you visit him and he gets you into his bed, you don't know what he is doing but you know that you love him enough that your world would end if you had to loose him. you scream NO silently in your head, because your afraid if he hears it, he might leave you like everyone else in your life that you ever cared about. afterward you cry by yourself in the bathroom, cleaning off the blood and resisting these words in your head," he loves me, he wants to be with me, you love him, you will never leave him." almost one year into the relationship, you need to wear shirts big enough to hide to marks on your arms and neck from how he got mad at you for the smallest things. you knew this was not normal, but you also knew that you would've done anything just to make him happy. not long after finding out that he has been cheating on you with some of the people you used to call your best friend. by this time you are grade 9 and 10, flunking tests, smoking weed, going to parties and drinking with strangers. you decide to run away from your problems by starting new and fresh but you left your moral values at your first high-school. one high-school becomes 4 and eventually your mind plays tricks on you that everyone would be happier...if you just said goodbye.
